Electrical equipment manufacturer Liteon Technology announced plans to establish a $919 million advanced manufacturing facility in McKinney, Texas. The Taiwanese company expects the development to create 600 jobs over the next several years and support growth opportunities driven by the expansion of AI infrastructure and energy-related markets.
Liteon has established an AI infrastructure portfolio, offering integrated solutions that feature AI power management, battery backup units, racks and mechanical components and liquid cooling systems to support next-generation AI data centers. The company is also expanding into sectors such as optoelectronic semiconductors, automotive electronics and 5G & AIoT.
The new operations site expands Liteon's North Texas presence with a more than 650,000-square-foot facility. Located at the Core5 Logistics Center industrial park, it will support a range of manufacturing, operational and engineering activities.
The project includes $108.5 million for the acquisition of factory buildings and aims to enhance Liteon's responsiveness and service capabilities for partners and customers across North America. The company said it will create positions in engineering, advanced manufacturing and corporate operations, with hiring expected to begin as renovations progress.
Liteon did not provide a timeline for when it anticipates operations will begin.
A collaboration between the City of McKinney, the McKinney Economic Development Corporation and the State of Texas facilitated the project. Other manufacturers in the city include RTX and Encore Wire.
