Honda Motor Co., Ltd. plans to discontinue automobile sales operations in South Korea at the end of 2026. The move impacts Honda Korea, the company's motorcycle and automobile sales subsidiary headquartered in Seoul.

Honda said the decision reflects changes in the global and South Korean auto markets and a focus on concentrating resources to strengthen its long-term competitiveness. Honda Korea plans to keep its motorcycle business as the core of its operations.

The automaker established the subsidiary, formerly known as Honda Motorcycle Korea, in 2001 and launched motorcycle and automobile sales in 2002 and 2004, respectively. As of April 2026, the division reported about $8 million in capital and an employment of 84 associates. Key products include the PCX125 scooter and the Accord mid-size vehicle.

After ending automobile sales, Honda plans to continue providing after-sales services in South Korea, including maintenance, parts supply and warranty support.
